PWMA x RMHC Wellness and Warmth: A Day with Young Heroes

PWMA was absolutely delighted to collaborate with Ronald McDonald House Charities Hong Kong (RMHC) in early July to host a paper quilling workshop at RMHC’s new Kwun Tong House in Hong Kong for unwell children and their families. The event kicked off with opening remarks from Vivien Khoo from PWMA and Judy Chan from Bank of China (Hong Kong), followed by an overview of and RMHC a house tour led by Damon Lui and Lydia Kwong from RMHC, before our PWMA Apprentices led participants through the art workshop. We were grateful to have this opportunity to connect with the local community and learn about the RMHC Program and how they care for families with children who are ill or injured by providing physical and emotional support to all family members. RMHC family units include a communal kitchen, library, study room, play area, communal dining space, and an organic garden. It’s a place where families can draw strength from one another, navigate the challenges of caring for a seriously ill child, and foster an atmosphere of togetherness and hope.

Around 20 PWMA Apprentices, PWMA Team Members and Bank of China (Hong Kong) volunteers along with 20 children and their families currently staying at RMHC Hong Kong enjoyed the paper quilling activity together. Following the workshop, participants lunched together and had the opportunity to get to know different families and hear more about their stories. Our sincere appreciation goes to Judy Chan from Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited for her mentorship this year and for inviting her family and colleagues to join this meaningful event! Big thanks to all the participants including the PWMA Apprenticeship Organizing Committee for this event: Jacky Cheung and Angel Peng .
