The CPWP Bridging Programme provides retail wealth professionals a path to advance their careers in the private wealth management industry. By completing the CPWP Bridging Programme, these individuals can demonstrate their understanding of the private wealth management business and their readiness to take on new responsibilities.
The CPWP Bridging Programme was developed by the PWMA, the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) and Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI) in consultation with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). It is designed with the overall aim to train and assess the participant’s knowledge and skills which are required of a CPWP but not covered in the curriculum the Enhanced Competency Framework on Retail Wealth Management (ECF-RWM).
It consists of two training modules plus a post-training assessment.
- Module 1: Technical and Product Knowledge will be delivered by HKSI in eCourse format;
- Module 2: Ethics and Compliance will be delivered via face-to-face/Zoom training by the HKIB.
- Post-training examination organised by HKSI Institute to be taken after the participants have successfully completed both training modules.
Upon successful completion of the two training modules and passing of the post-training examination, the CPWP Bridging Programme participant will obtain a certificate of completion which will be equivalent to passing the examinations of the traditional CPWP Module 1 (Paper 1) and Module 2. The participants are also required to pass the CPWP Module 1 (Paper 2) Examination to meet the examination requirement of applying for CPWP or CPWPA certification.
