PWMA and Hong Kong Trade Development Council co-hosted the Family Office Symposium during the Asia Financial Forum (‘AFF”), attracting over 110 attendees. The by-invitation event was opened by our chair Mrs. Amy Lo with Dr. Adrian Cheng giving a keynote speech. The afternoon was filled with 2 panels with a great line-up of speakers. For Panel 1 “Passing the Baton”, we had Bernard Wai from Citi as moderator, with Patrick Tsang from Tsangs Group, Eric Ng from Happiness Capital and Prof. Roger King from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as speakers. Yasmin Fong was the moderator for Panel 2 “Intergenerational Wealth Transfer Communications”, with Pat Woo from KPMG, David Yeh Jr. from Destiny Research Institute (DRI) and Dr. Andrew Lo from UBS joining the panel.
The 17th AFF took place this week with active participation of over 3,000 financial experts and leaders from across the globe. Themed Multilateral Cooperation for a Shared Tomorrow, AFF aims to analyse the global economic outlook for the new year, and promote collaboration among countries and governments to achieve sustainability and seize emerging opportunities. The Forum will gather more than a hundred global business leaders as speakers.
Engaging discussions from the panelists discussing the impact of passing control from one generation to the next and how generation transition affects culture, strategic direction and corporate culture. It also speaks to Communication with a key challenge in any family and real life stories shared by the panelists
This is the 5th year that PWMA is co-hosting the Family Office Symposium and it was another hugely successful event. We look forward to continuing supporting the government in developing HK into a key wealth management hub through different PWMA initiatives.
