PWMA congratulates the 21 university students who this summer successfully completed the two-year Pilot Apprenticeship Programme for Private Wealth Management! This year was especially challenging: many students completed at least some, if not all of their apprenticeship this summer in a virtual work environment, having to forgo face-to-face interactions for the sake of social distancing. They deserve all the more credit for adapting to the situation with agility and getting the most out of their experience.
Fittingly, Apprentices took part in a virtual graduation ceremony on 7 August 2020, with special guest speakers Mr. Arthur Yuen, Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and Ms. Amy Lo, PWMA Chairman. Two graduates from the Class of 2019 (Nicky Hui, UBS AG and Chloe Chan, Bank Julius Baer & Co. AG) shared some of their Apprenticeship experiences and expressed their thanks.
Jointly organized by the PWMA and the HKMA, the Apprenticeship Programme provides training and hands-on experience at a participating PWMA member firm to undergraduate university students in Hong Kong interested in a potential career in private wealth management.
