A webinar co-organized with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) on “Practical Considerations of Managing Wealth and Assets of Vulnerable Clients” was well received with over 110 participants on 10 September 2020. Thank you to all our speakers who took the time from their busy schedules to speak with us – Ms. Joanna Caen (Managing Director of Praxis IFM), Ms. Sherlynn Chan (Partner of Stevenson, Wong & Co) and Mr. Ken To (Barrister of Sir Oswald Cheung’s Chambers).
This informative presentation offered practical advice to our members on handling vulnerable clients, especially mentally incapacitated patients (“MIPs”), highlighting key issues such as managing their assets, regulations (i.e. the Mental Health Ordinance) which protects their interests as well as the role of “committees” in protecting the best interests of MIPs.
We look forward to further cooperation with STEP and stay tuned for our upcoming webinars!
