Individuals will be certified by the PWMA as CPWPA when they have successfully completed the examination requirements under the ECF. Work experience is not a prerequisite for CPWPA certification.
CPWPA certification is targeted primarily at Relevant Practitioners who have passed the relevant ECF Module 1 and 2 examinations but have not yet met the relevant experience requirements for CPWP certification; Client Service Assistants or Assistants to Relevant Practitioners; and Middle and Back Office staff involved with the PWM business. It also provides opportunities to staff of PWMA member firms, non-PWMA member institutions and university students who are seeking to enhance their skill sets and advance their careers within the Private Wealth Management (PWM) industry and stay abreast of the latest developments and trends of the PWM industry.
For the details on CPWPA certification eligibility and requirements, please refer to “Guidelines for CPWPA Certification”. Please also refer to the FAQ for a list of commonly asked questions regarding the ECF and CPWPA.
CPWPA Certification Renewal
In order to maintain ongoing professionalism and keep abreast of the latest developments, PWM practitioners who have obtained the CPWPA designation, are required to fulfil not less than 10-hours of On-going Professional Training (“OPT”) annually to maintain CPWPA certification.
Please refer to “Guidelines for CPWP/CPWPA Certification Renewal and On-going professional Training (OPT)” for details on the OPT requirements.
Conditions apply to late renewal or failure to fulfil OPT requirements.
Please contact PWMA if you have any questions.
