On 30 March 2020, over 120 people logged in to attend a webinar hosted by the PWMA and the FinTech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK) via Zoom. The timely topic of our discussion was “Remote Working Solutions & Best Practices.”
Our panelists included Medhy Souidi, Head of FinTech & StartupXchange, DBS Bank; Florence Kui, COO Asia Pacific and Deputy Head of North Asia, Goldman Sachs; and Charlotte Robins, Partner, Allen & Overy, while Helene Li, General Manager, FTAHK served as panel moderator. The panel shared some current practices regarding Business Continuity Plan (BCP) procedures and “Working from Home” policies, including different practices and technologies deployed by front, middle, and back-office staff. Meanwhile, speakers also shared tips for using remote working tools, different options for video and audio meetings, team collaboration and file sharing, as well as list of data security issues. They also discussed the psychological and emotional challenges of remote working, such as how to keep yourself and your staff motivated and engaged while battling feelings of isolation or even physical discomfort from the inability to get up and walk around to different offices.
